OCEAN BOTTOM SEISMIC ACQUISITION
ARGAS has operated two of the world’s largest ocean bottom cable (OBC) crews. From 2010 to 2013, this project acquired over 13,500 km² of high quality 3D four component (4C) seismic data in the Arabian Gulf and the Kuwait Partitioned Neutral Zone.
These crews were equipped with:
- Over 140 kilometers of SeaRay 300 ocean bottom cables with receiver points at intervals of 50 meters.
- More than 80 kilometers of SeaRay 300 ocean bottom cables with receiver points at intervals of 25 meters.
- Two source arrays (6 Sercel G-gun strings) per crew which allowed flip flop shooting.
- Gator command and control navigation systems with a 4D module developed specifically for use by ARGAS.
ARGAS can offer 2D and 3D Marine streamer services with the support of our partner CGG. We undertook 3D streamer surveys in the KSA waters of the Arabian Gulf before our record OBC acquisition.
