The objective of the Operational Risk/Loss Prevention Group is to achieve ZERO high consequence loss potential within ARGAS. This is achieved through encouragement of a strong organizational risk aware culture that identifies risk before becoming a loss event. ARGAS will be enhancing and initiating through the encouragement of proactive reporting from all areas of the organization to achieve this goal of ZERO. With ARGAS having a strong psychological safe culture, increasing the identification of high consequence risks only enhances operational effectiveness, people satisfaction and mitigation of organizational risk to what would be considered reasonably practicable.

Advantage to Operational Risk/Loss Prevention is that it demonstrates opportunities to improve (identify gaps) within ARGAS such as (but not limited too):

  • Lack of proactive reporting.

“Can’t manage high consequence risk if we are not told”

  • Identification of less than adequate demonstrated learnings.

“Does ARGAS organizational learn and institute positive solutions?”

  • Potential gaps with critical control structures that need to exist to operate.

“Is ARGAS continuously evaluating critical controls within all parts of the business?

  • Limitations within ARGAS’s investigation and corrective action processes.

“If a risk event is reported does ARGAS properly investigate and learn to improve”

ARGAS’ #1 asset and strength are its people and that is where loss prevention will be determined. Risk awareness ownership is driven from the grassroots level, ARGAS employees, contractors and client’s willingness to report high consequence conditions for the sake of learning and improving an already strong risk aware atmosphere.

The fixing of high consequence risk issues before they become a loss is key to risk mitigation and overall loss prevention within ARGAS.
